Rosalind Franklin's Exploration of the Human Genome
Even though it may have been unintentional, but when Rosalind Franklin uncovered the structure of DNA, revealing it was a double helix through hours and hours of hard work and x-rays she was accidentally unveiling the answer of the mystery that was the Human Genome
The human genome is what makes us, it’s our genetic makeup, and when Photograph 51 revealed that DNA had a double helix, thus revealing that the genetic code was inside this, it made it so much easier to determine why we got sick, why we looked different form others. Having been one of her most greatest accomplishments to date, Rosalind Franklin was never able to share the joy of women getting credit and kudos for their work, and most importantly she never got to experience what all her hard work being turned into one of the greatest medical advancements of all time. But had it not been for her none of it would have been possible, and where would we all be now? |

The human genome deals with the mapping and identification of the DNA sequencing of DNA in human. Dr. Franklin provide the science for understanding what DNA looked like structurally but did not deal with any aspect of the human genome project which was started in the 1990's. |
